Green Hotel Program
Certified as a Delaware Green Lodging facility, the Holiday Inn Express Rehoboth Beach provides green hotel accommodations for guests to enjoy luxury at the beach all the while helping to protect the local environment through a commitment to ongoing sustainable initiatives.
Our current efforts include:
- Single stream recycling bins in all guest rooms, public and back-of-house areas meaning no separating your plastic, glass or paper items
- Motion detectors in guest laundry, housekeeping, fitness room and vending areas
- Liner-less recycling receptacles in guest rooms
- Laundry and cleaning products which are phosphate-free, plant-based, pH neutral, greywater/septic safe and free from caustics, ammonia and chlorine
- 100% CFL bulbs in guest rooms and public areas
- Linen-reuse program
- Post-consumer recycled office supplies including paper, file folders, pens and storage boxes
- Toro Intelli-Sense Smart Irrigation Controller
- Paperless night audit (Spring 2010)
- PowerKuff energy monitoring system (Spring 2010)
- Xeriscape landscaping (Ongoing through 2010)
- Breakfast Bar plates, silverware and beverage containers made of recycled materials (As soon as possible pending Holiday Inn brand approval)
